One of the great challenges a parent has is in overcoming their own bias that what they grew up with is the best thing and their children should experience the same thing. If you attended public school, your children should.
In Utah, state law says that parents have a “fundamental liberty interest” in the education of their children. State law also provides for a number of options available to parents to choose a different path that better meets your children’s education needs. In this section of the website we will address these options. Most of these options exist in other states as well, though obviously there will be some differences. Utah has a very good parental rights law which to my knowledge is only surpassed by Texas in providing freedom for parents to educate their children as they choose.
The state does not own your children. They are yours to raise and the state must be a secondary support to your stewardship and never insert itself into the equation.
